What? So is this an attempt to avoid the inevitable investigation into the no-bid contracts that the Bush/Cheney White House awarded to Cheney’s former company?
It plans to list on a Middle East bourse once it moves to Dubai – a booming commercial center in the Gulf. The company said it was making the moves to position itself better to gain contracts in the oil-rich Middle East.
“This is an insult to the U.S. soldiers and taxpayers who paid the tab for their no-bid contracts and endured their overcharges for all these years,” said judiciary committee Chairman Sen. Patrick Leahy, a Vermont Democrat.
This smells to the rafters. With Waxman digging into their dealings this seem HIGHLY suspect that they are planning to ship out the Dubai. They claim that they are not doing it to save on taxes but, rather to bolster their support for their middle eastern contracts. Hmm, with calls growing to ouster Gonzales and the systematic removals of various Bush camp ne’er-do-wells, it would seem that Halliburton is trying to make a run for it with the profiteering money. I certainly hope that the US government (not Bush) steps up to the plate and takes these jokers on.
