This is an interesting story from Taiwan. The fact that this guy worked in IT Security is really immaterial.

A man who allegedly hacked into the EasyCard system and put NT$9,000 (US$295.45) on each of three cards was nabbed by police and handed over to the Shilin District Prosecutors Office on grounds of violating e-ticket distribution and management regulations.
Prosecutors are still investigating whether the man, surnamed Wu, was involved in other criminal activities, said Yen Nai-wei, deputy chief prosecutor of the Shilin Prosecutors Office on Tuesday.

The really interesint part of this article was the lengths that the company and even the mayor went to assure the public at large that the card payment system was safe and secure.
So, then riddle me this. How exactly did he manage to compromise cards that could not possibly be compromised?
I smell a whole heap of bull shit on this story.
