The CEO of Stratfor, George Friedman, posted this video response to the hacking incident that their company suffered on Dec 24, 2011.
When attempting to view their published response I discovered that the site is offline again due to the sheer volume of traffic (and possible denial of service attacks I’ll guess).
What are your thoughts on the Stratfor response?
I thought that the response, while obviously rehearsed, actually came across as authentic and genuine. He really did seem apologetic for what had happened but at the same time not trying to undermine that it indeed did happen.
Even though I have no personal history with Stratfor there are a few questions I find somewhat unsettling. What were the motives? Were they substantiated? Did the movies carry any merit?
I guess casualties are to be expected, even innocent ones. But, then what separates them from those that they are trying so avidly to avoid and destroy?
