The practice of companies purchasing personal phone records will be coming to an end soon. The FTC has filed suit against companies engaged in this venture. They have asked the court to disallow the sale of the phone records.

In the lawsuits announced on Wednesday, the FTC charged the companies used “false pretenses, fraudulent statements, fraudulent or stolen documents or other misrepresentations, including posing as a customer of a telecommunications carrier” to get the phone records.

I guess the FBI will have to resort to other means to get their hands on your phone records 😀
