There is an interesting post about a NY Times article on the Department of Homeland Security’s database. It appears to be on the fritz. One blatant example is that the database has 8,591 potential terror targets in…Indiana. This is crazy when you take into account that that this is 50% more than there are in New York and twice as many as California. Some of the targets are laughable “These include Old MacDonald’s Petting Zoo, the Amish Country Popcorn factory, the Mule Day Parade, and the Sweetwater Flea Market.” Um OK. I have a strong suspicion that there is something off with this database. Either that or reps for Indiana have gone hog wild on the National Asset Database in an effort to get a bigger cut of any DHS funding.
