In a first (almost) the entire Liquidmatrix gang will be in one spot at the same time. On the first night in Las Vegas four of us met for dinner at Spago. From left to right in the picture is Dave Lewis, James Arlen, Matt Johansen and Zach Lanier with Wolfgang Puck watching over us for good measure. Not shown are the Intern and Lee.
A huge thanks to Amber Baldet for providing the picture.
The Intern is set to make the big “reveal” tomorrow at Defcon as soon as we can peel the Intern away from the tables. Dinner was a quiet affair where we simply enjoyed dinner and a bizarre cavalcade of people marching by the patio. Including a man with a lightsaber. I wish I was joking about that one.
Las Vegas is a strange, strange place.
The Black Hat conference has been exceptionally good this year with a lot of great content from speakers such as Travis Goodspeed, Shawn Moyer, Nathan Hamiel, Mark Dowd and our own James Arlen who gave his talk “Your Mind: Legal Status, Rights and Securing Yourself” with co-presenter Tiffany Rad. All of whom gave great talks. Be sure to check out James as host of the 10,000 Cent Hacker Pyramid game show at Defcon.
Matt and I have a few posts that we’re lining up and will post as soon as we can find more than 5 minutes to focus on them.
I would like to say a huge thank you to Ryan Naraine from Kaspersky/Threatpost and Rich Mogull from Securosis who hosted the “hangover breakfast” this morning for security bloggers. I must admit that I felt a little silly when I walked into the restaurant for breakfast and paid for the buffet only to realize that these guys were already picking up the tab. Thanks so much gents. It was a great time talking with everyone.
Next up for me, Mike Davis’ talk “Recoverable Advanced Metering Infrastructure” which includes a proof of concept worm.
“Las Vegas is a strange, strange place.” HAHA yes it is. My co-workers collected the stripper baseball cards they hand out on the strip last year when we were there for Defcon.
@Matt
Ha! The Intern had quite a collection going of those as well. 🙂
