Airline Customer Service

Already this morning I’m grumpy. Why? Simple. I don’t have a Treo or a Crackberry device which would make my life easier. This posting will not reflect when it was written. But, anyway. While I was standing in line this morning to check my bags, an airline commandante changed the config for the lineup. While I can understand why, it was blocking the passing travellers it was handled in a piss poor fashion, allow me to explain. I’m miffed at Air Canada. An elderly gentleman didn’t understand what was going on and she barked at him. I along with the woman standing behind me were about to spring to his defense when he wheeled around and barked back. OK, he doesn’t need anyone’s help. He told her that she was being rude and did not explain herself well. I cannot find any fault with either of his statements. She was a vicious uncaring woman. Sure it’s March Break week…but, this is a customer service position. Not a prison guard. Not to be outdone this airline rep then called security. This was getting out of hand in a hurry. He looked her squarely in the eye and said, “then bring them”. Sure enough the cops arrived but, thankfully they had sense enough to see she was being completely unreasonable and walked away without so much as a word to the gentleman. When did customer service pass away? Was their even a wake? Ah well, now back to my acidic coffee as I head for LAX to start my training course tomorrow.
