The man who lost to a dead man has landed himself a job. Yup, the very same person who gave us the Patriot Act and various other bits of nonsense is now helping firms get homeland security contracts.

Nearly two years after he left the Justice Department for a glass-and-marble office tower six blocks away, Ashcroft is building a lucrative consulting company helping security and other firms find business with federal agencies. Federal spending on homeland security is expected to reach nearly $60 billion in fiscal 2007, according to the Office of Management and Budget.

This man is helping firms get contracts with the government? The same man who lost to a dead man and stripped the American people of rights and freedoms is now clearing out the tax payer dollars. All in the name of security. Sigh.

  1. Thanks ridiculous. From your story you would think that Ashcroft was somehow forcing the DHS and other agencies to spend money. Dude, the money is going to get spent one way or the other. Whether Ashcroft’s consulting firm gets a cut or not won’t impact the amount spent. Sounds like you have a personal axe to grind.

Well, you obviously don’t know me then. I have no axe or grinder. Your rapier wit indicates that life at the Idaho Power company must be quite dull today. Tess Park still work there? You might want to check the date. This posting was over a year and a half ago.

OK folks. Hold on a tick. Mr. Tatistcheff is more than welcome to his opinions. I only take issue when people are rude for which there is really no justification. So, can we put the brakes on what I can see as a spiral based on some of the comments I had to delete?

    Peace all.

    🙂
