BANG! The Butcher of Baghdad is Dead

Well, this piece of news is long overdue. The Jordanian born Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was killed in an airstrike today in Bakuba north of Baghdad. The US military finally managed to whack this sick little monkey. He was responsible for killing scores of Iraqis and the occasional Westerner (ie. Berg). Zarqawi met his fate when some of his own people ratted him out.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki confirmed the death of the leader of al-Qaida in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, on Thursday morning. Believed to be Osama bin Laden’s top deputy in Iraq, Zarqawi was killed in a US air strike in the town of Bakuba north of Baghdad. Maliki said that Iraqi security forces had assisted the Americans in planning the attack. General George Casey, commander of the US troops in Iraq, also confirmed that Zarqawi’s body had been identified. The hunt for the terrorist leader in the Bakuba region began two weeks ago, but officials did not release any further details.

Hope the little bastage rots in hell. No 70 virgins for this jackass. Sadly, this will most likely have little effect on the insurgent activity in the region. Butchering innocent Iraqis is no way to get your message across. Yes George, that goes for you too.
