Brief: Veterans Affairs Computer Disk Stolen

Well, we have another piece of bad news from the Department of Veteran Affairs. Apparently a computer disk containing the personal information for millions of vets has been stolen from the VA. A conference call on this matter is underway. Something like this happened earlier when Iron Mountain lost similar data from the VA.

A computer disk with personal data of about 26.5 million U.S. veterans was stolen from the home of a Veterans Affairs analyst, the federal department said Monday.Veterans Affairs Secretary James Nicholson said the stolen data included names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth and numerical disability ratings.
