Cryzip Trojan encrypts data…and holds for ransom

We’ve seen this type of behaviour before with the Gpcoder in May 2005. That virus would encrypt data and ask for $200 to decrypt it. Now it’s happening again with Cryzip. This one ups the ante and asks for $300 in order to release the data. The trojan searches your hard drive for 44 differnt files types. But, there is a twist. Apparently the coder for this virus is no security expert a freakin moron. The password is the same on every system and it’s stored…in PLAIN TEXT.
