Don’t quit your day job…

In this late installment of my usual Friday rant (don’t get me started, it’s actually been that kind of weekend and I’ve got a 9am meeting on Monday… with my frakkin dentist.)

I’m sitting in a meeting this week, going over some security requirements with a set of users — you know, trying to pre-empt the usual end-of-project “What do you mean we needed to talk to you guys?”. Near the end of the meeting, someone leans over to me and says, “Can I talk to you after the meeting?” Of course I say yes, as I’m more than happy to help the folks on the business side get things done safely. After the meeting, he pulls me into the hallway and says…

It’s a minor Criminal Code thing.

Yeah.

I wish I could be just making this stuff up.

For those of you who visit us from around the world (please check in with that stats-hound Dave for details) in Canada, the Criminal Code outlines all of those things which are offenses. And it really doesn’t have a “major” and “minor” section.

So yeah, we’re in the hallway talking about a minor criminal code thing.

Shoot me. Just shoot me.

Have a lovely week — and remember to keep your packets flowing and your people gruntled. (Note that ‘gruntled’ is the opposite of ‘disgruntled’.)
