There is a god! Bill Gates (no, not him) is leaving his role as grand overseer to work on his charitable foundation. This wil be an interesting transition for the operating system giant. The palace court battles that will ensue with be of epic proportions and this could potentially lead to the downfall of the monolith. Longhorn and Vista are continually being moved back in the time table to the point where viable alternatives such as Apple and SuSE (Novell) have a real chance to bridge the gap.
“I’ve decided that two years from today, I will reorganize my personal priorities,” Gates said during a news conference, adding,”I have one of the best jobs in the world.”
“I believe with great wealth comes great responsibility – the responsibility to give back to society and make sure those resources are given back in the best possible way, to those in need,” he said. Gates added, “It’s not a retirement, it’s a reordering of my priorities.”
Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out Bill. Let the steel cage death match begin!!!
