I have to admit I’m confused by Google. On the one hand they are working hand in hand with the Chinese government to create filters to further control their citizens. I like others have an issue with this position. The Google position was outlined in it’s testimony. Now on the other hand Google has given the “heisman” to the US department of justice with regards to it’s ridiculous request for disclosure of search queries for a full two months. If I have ever seen a fishing expedition, this one takes the cake. So, full points to Google for telling the gov to go pound sand. But, I’m still torn on the Chinese stand. While I can appreciate that this is the cost to come to the party in China’s (massive) market, it still bothers me. C’mon Google…grab your balls and take a stand!
