Last Days On The Wall: Becoming A Security Evangelist

Well, here I am. Looking out at the horizon. Time to leave my post on the parapet.

Somewhat melodramatic but, you get the idea.

Today is my last day of a great job in a company that has had its share of difficulties. After over two years I’m leaving to pursue new opportunities. I’m leaving behind one of the best bosses I’ve ever had in CJ Wickham. It was a pleasure to work with CJ and the team at AMD. I can honestly say this is the first time I’ve left a job that I liked. No doubt “Persona ultimus reprehendo” will ensue.

Mind you, the new job is pretty damn awesome.

Next up, well there is a couple of items.

First and foremost I’ll be taking a Security Evangelist role with Akamai’s Security Team starting July 1st. I’m really looking forward to joining Andy Ellis, Josh Corman, Bill Brenner, Mike Smith, Martin McKeay…and the list just keeps going. Suffice as to say this is a wonderful opportunity and I’m happy to join the team!

Second item of note, I’m pleased to announce that I’m joining CSO Online as a blogger. My blog will be called “Brick of Enlightenment”…yeah, didn’t see that title coming.

Guess that means I’ll have to write more…a lot more.

Game on.
