Navy To Grant Computer Security Patent

Here is an interesting patent that has been filed by the US Navy. This was filed July 25, 2003 and they posted in the Federal Register today July 5th that the intend to grant exlcusive license to a company called Sequestered Solutions Alaska, LLC. This patent “U.S. Patent Application Serial No. 10/627,102: Systems and
Methods for Providing Increased Computer Security”. It’s interesting to note that there is no link under the company profile to their Chief Security Officer, Gary Sullivan. (possible reference?) While this is a revocable patent what does this mean, if anything, for other companies in the computer security space? The part of this that I find odd is the relatively short time available to allow for responses. Those replies are due July 20, 2006.
