Off Topic: Open Letter To Oakley

I have been an Oakley customer for years now but, I’m starting to have MAJOR second thoughts. I purchased a pair of Oakley eyeglasses (Blender 2.0) in January and I had to take it back to the optometrist twice to have the frames fixed when they cracked. Just this evening it happened again.

The flaw that has become my albatross is in the frail plastic joint on the arm. The roaring piece of crap is painful to have to contend with.

The first time I took these in to have them fixed the clerk shook his head and said, “yes, this is a known problem”. When the plastic cracks the tension is shot to hell and the glasses will not sit on my face properly. The shop had them fixed and I assumed (foolishly) that the new pair would be better. It was not. The next two times that they broke I was not doing anything to them other than opening the arms to put them on my face. These are sub par crap from a vendor that I have otherwise had a satisfactory opinion of. This has gone beyond silly as the new owners of the shop where I purchased them said it was “not their problem” and I “should have been more careful”. Needless to say I will never shop at Envy Eyewear on Queen Street East in the Beach area of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

I would love it if someone from Oakley would contact me. I just want glasses frames that aren’t so bloody fragile.
