The folks at Websense have put out an advisory regard in the Butterfield Private Bank.

Butterfield Bank (UK) Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Son Limited. The parent bank was established in Bermuda in 1858. The Group is also represented in six other international locations.

I myself used to be a customer of the Butterfield Bank’s parent company.

From the alert:

Websense® Security Labs™ has received reports of a phishing attack that targets customers of Butterfield Private Bank. Users receive a spoofed email message announcing a new Web site and inviting users to log on. The message includes a link to a phishing site which attempts to collect personal and account information.

This phishing site is hosted in the United States and was down at the time of this alert.
