When at Defcon last week Myrcurial and I had a chance to go and fire off some machine guns. No really. So, we figured what the hell.
Here I am with rounds for an AK-47. I had asked for the MP5 but, being a good Canadian lad I had as much clue as the staffer who handed me the ammo that it was wrong.
First on the firing line was Myrcurial. For never having fired a fully auto machine gun he handled it remarkably well.
Next up with the MP5 was yours truly. I’ve fired long guns in the past but, never had I fired a machine gun either. It was an experience.
The look of a contented old fart after burning through three clips. Sure the gun jammed a few times but, I didn’t really care. If you look closely you can see the whole smack in the middle of the target’s head. Myrcurial and I were pretty good shots. Thankfully not a habit forming activity.
This last pic left no doubt as to the political leanings of the shop staff. In case your not sure it’s bolted to the wall above a garbage can. Ah, politics.
