Privacy Breach Companies ‘Must Be Named’

If a company suffers from a breach that may put customer data at risk must be made public. Why? For the good of the customer. Our data is exactly that, ours. If a customer entrusts a company with said data then we would expect that it is made to be safe. However, if this data falls into the hands of ne’er do wells. Then we have a right to know. It’s our asses on the line . Bottom lines be damned. So, that being ranted said, the best defense for these companies is to go on the offense. Proactively work like hell to protect the data that we the customers trust you to manage. Where there are rules in the US to govern this sort of disclosure. There are not such rules throughout the world, yet.
