SecTor Security Conference 2008

Let’s face it. There are a lot of good conferences out there. Shmoocon, Defcon, SOURCE Boston, Toorcon, CanSecWest and so on. But, one aspect that has been sorely lacking the the Toronto market is a conference that doesn’t suck in a heinous fashion. Infosecurity Canada flamed out this year. The response from Infosecurity Canada attendees was anything but glowing. Too bad. But, a huge bonus for the SecTor Security Conference. That failure has driven people to sign up for the second year of SecTor which will be taking place in Toronto October 7-8, 2008.

This year there is quite a lineup of speakers. Here is a sampling:

Now, a new addition to the lineup this year is the addition of training including one from SANS to be provided at the conference. I know many folks who head off to training courses and conferences around the US to great expense. Well, this year you can make your training budget go farther in the Toronto area. Sure we can’t offer sunny beaches in October but, you can get your training at a cost savings in the exotic travel destination that is…um, Toronto.

Seriously though here is a run down of the training that’s available.

The training costs run from $999 to $1499 for some top notch courses. Each course will be held on October 6th and will net course attendees 6 CPE credits.

There it is in a nut shell. Sign up now while spots remain. They’ll go fast!
