Sony: The Town Bike

This has gotten to the realm of the absurd. Sony has had its proverbial pants pulled down around its ankles yet again.

From Toronto Star:

Hackers have breached a database at Sony Ericsson’s Eshop online store for mobile phones in Canada, extracting personal information of more than 2,000 customers.

Records including names, email addresses and encrypted passwords were taken by an outside party, the company said in a statement late Tuesday.

It said no additional personal or credit card details have been compromised, adding that the joint venture has disabled the e-commerce website, a standalone platform that is not connected to Sony Ericsson servers.

This time it was a Lebanese hacker group that had its way with Sony. In the last day Sony has seen at least four different country websites compromised and customer data breached. Amidst all of this chaos it was interesting to note that Sony stock has remained unaffected. At this point its a curious to see who is next in this pwn parade.

Sony really seems to have become the town bike.
